Progress is going a little slower than I had hoped, but I finally have a good idea of how I want to shape the first novel in the series. For the time being it has the work title 'Chaos Portals: Awakening'. It features the journey of Lynna and her friends as she becomes better at casting magic, and the dangers she faces in a changing world.
The original story that I mentioned in my previous update, ‘Chaos Portals: Apocalypse Rising’, is actually a sequel to Awakening. The story has a great plot, but since it was meant to be a short story I didn’t have a lot of space to give the world as much details as I’d like to do. Awakening, however, features different characters in an adventure that plays before Apocalypse Rising and really allows me to give a lot more background information about the world they live in. I have enough ideas to fill at least four novels, and I'm really looking forward to writing them all!

Wow, it's been far too long since my last update here. I’ve been very busy the past year; I had a trip to Ukraine which gave a lot of inspiration and put me in touch with a very different world (this was before all the demonstrations and change in power), I got engaged, and I have a baby boy on the way.
In addition I’m also working on an unpublished game for which I’m writing the storylines and creating the characters. As a result I didn’t get to do as much writing as I wanted to, but with a vacation of a week and a head full of ideas I’m hoping to get very far with my new novel.
Last year I joined an anthology project for a website to help promoting them. Unfortunately, the project itself was canceled for several reasons, but the story I wrote still exists. It turned out into a wonderful 20 page story with that gives a new twist to magic in an alternate reality.
The ideas I had back then were big enough for an entire series of novels, and I’m hoping to write the first of this series in the coming weeks. The original story will also be published when the novel is ready.
I hope to post regular updates here to tell more about the world I envision.

A website asked me this question earlier today. The question intrigued me, since everybody gets his or her inspiration from somewhere, and I gave it some good thought where my inspiration comes from. The answer turned out to be simpler than I thought it'd be. I decided to write an additional section about this, which is now available below my biography. Feel free to let me know where your inspiration comes from. I'm always interested in hearing other people's thoughts on this subject.

Despite being live for less than a day, I already made an update to the Novels section of my website, or more accurately, to the page of A Little Help and Forbidden Love. The newest section features specific details about each novel like what the book is about, what inspired me to write it, how long it took to write, what the hardest part of writing the novel was, etc. In short, several fun extra details that you don't find on the websites of my retailers. It gives a nice insight in the novels and what you can expect from them.

After working hard for the past two weeks on Stormy Novels I'm happy to go live today! In the future I want to add even more functionality like integrating my Wordpress blog and adding mailing list, but overall I'm very excited about the website. I lacked a central place where I can combine all my information and it's great to have my own website.
To celebrate this event I'm giving a 50% discount on my novels A Little Help and Forbidden Love at Smashwords for the next two weeks! To make use of this discount you can use coupon code JU55M for A Little Help and coupon code RE88S for Forbidden Love. I'm going to take the rest of the night off and do tomorrow again what I do best; writing. It's been a while since I got to work on Stranded, which will be my next title.
I've also written a short story (approximately 9k words) for Elliquiy titled Apocalypse Rising, but I'm not sure yet when that will be published in their anthology. The story is about a modern fantasy world, which is something which I didn't write about before, and where I give a new twist to the use of magic in our everyday world. The writing process for that story was a lot of fun. In fact, it was so much fun that it gave me enough ideas to write an entire series based on that short story. My current plan is to finish Stranded first (which might also be the first of a series) and then work on my modern fantasy series.
In short, you can expect to see a lot more from me in the future.

I've started development on stormynovels.com! I'm looking forward to sharing more information about myself and my novels with the rest of the world. Considering my lack of experience with website building it'll probably be quite the challenge, especially since it's been about ten years since I did anything with website development, but I'm guessing it'll also be a lot of fun. In the future I hope to publish regular updates here.
At the start of April I have a week vacation and I hope to continue with my novel 'Stranded'. At the moment Stranded is just the work title and still subject to change, but it sums the story up quite well, so I might even keep that title or make it part of the final title. The story itself is based on a dream I had over a year ago. Most of the times my dreams are easily forgotten, but this one was so inspiring that I wrote it down for future reference. During my Christmas break last year I encountered my ideas again, and started writing. It wasn't long before I had seventy-five pages done, however, one of my editors recommended that I take another look at the number of cast members, which at the time already numbered more than twenty. During my next vacation I hope to get a lot of rewriting done in the first chapters and simplify the story, so that it's easier to follow the main characters without drowning into a lot of background information.
